CrimeStoppers and the Department of Taxation-Criminal Investigation Section is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Marshall Dimond, who is wanted for a $3,000 Warrant of Arrest for two counts of False and Fraudulent Statements and two counts of Attempt to Evade or Defeat Tax.

Age:         74 years old

Height:     5’11”

Weight:    163 lbs.

Hair:         Black

Eyes:        Brown

022/22 News Release - Damages to City Buses
March 23, 2022

CrimeStoppers and Oahu Transit Services, Inc. are asking for the public’s assistance in helping to keep bus passengers and operators safe and preventing damage to city buses.      

In the last three months, TheBus has seen an increase in the frequency and severity of cases involving objects being thrown at and hitting buses.  Since December 2021, there have been more than 60 cases of criminal property damage cases involving OTS buses. 

The incidents have occurred in four primary areas:

Downtown-Chinatown - Between River and Alakea Streets

North Shore - Between Sunset Beach and Weed Circle

Hawaii Kai - Kalanianaole Highway and Keahole Street 

Waikiki 

At 6:30 a.m. today, an OTS bus was traveling eastbound on S. King Street near Fort Street Mall when the passengers heard a noise and saw that a bus window had been shattered.  Fortunately, no one on the bus or nearby was injured.  

The onboard video surveillance camera showed a male suspect throwing an unknown object at the bus.  He is described as Caucasian, medium build, wearing a black jacket over a grey tank top, black shorts, black hat, black shoes, and a black backpack.  

If you see someone throwing objects at or damaging a bus, call 9-1-1 immediately.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male wanted for Robbery in the Second Degree.

On Monday, February 28, 2022, at approximately 1:35 p.m., a male entered the Haleiwa American Savings Bank located at 66-197 Kamehameha Highway and presented a demand note to the teller. The male also stated that he had a firearm although none was seen.  The teller gave the male an undisclosed amount of cash at which time he fled in an unknown direction.

Suspect:  Unknown male
Race: Local Asian/Mixed

Age: 20’s      

Height:  5’7”   

Weight:  135 lbs. 

Complexion: Freckles under eyes

Hair: Black short hair

Clothing: White long sleeve shirt, white painter’s pants and black sunglasses

010/22 News Release - Robbery Suspect Wanted
February 24, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male wanted for Robbery in the Second Degree.

On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 12:28 p.m., a male entered the Mililani American Savings Bank located at 95-221 Kipapa Drive and presented a demand note to the teller.  The teller gave the male an undisclosed amount of cash at which time he fled in an unknown direction.

009/22 News Release - Unauthorized Computer Access in the First Degree
February 24, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating witnesses or complainants related to an Unauthorized Computer Access in the First Degree case that occurred at a downtown financial institution.

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Kobina Nyarku allegedly used a computer terminal at a bank to unlawfully obtain information relating to the company’s employees.  Nyarku was subsequently arrested for Unauthorized Computer Access in the First Degree.  

Nyarku may have visited other banks, businesses and government buildings earlier that week.  Businesses and organizations are advised to check their video surveillance for Nyarku and their computer systems for possibly compromised data.

007/22 News Release - Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted
February 15, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the First Degree in connection to a shooting that happened in the Waikiki area.

On Sunday, February 6, 2022, at approximately 3:55 a.m., a family was delivering newspapers in the area of Nahua Street and Kuhio Avenue when they observed an assault taking place. When the family went to intervene, a male handed a firearm to another male who then shot at the family’s vehicle numerous times. Through the investigation, the shooter was identified and placed under arrest for Attempted Murder in the First Degree. Investigators are now trying to identify and locate the male who handed the firearm and two other males who were in accompany with them.

004/22 News Release - Assault Suspect Wanted
January 27, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Assault in the First Degree.

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at approximately 5:54 p.m., a 78 year old female was walking westbound on Kapiolani Boulevard near Ward Avenue when a male on a bicycle pushed her onto the ground and fled.

The victim sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported via ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

003/22 News Release - Phone Spoofing
January 25, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of reports of people receiving spoofed phone calls from the Honolulu Police Department.

Multiple individuals are reporting that they received a phone call from someone claiming to be with HPD. In one incident the person used the fictitious name of Officer Aaron Edwards and stated that they obtained the victim’s information from an adult website. 

The public is reminded that the Honolulu Police Department does not call, text or email people to solicit payment electronically or by phone. Hawaii residents are also advised not to provide credit card numbers or other personal information to callers claiming to represent a law enforcement agency.

The HPD does not solicit donations from the public. If you receive a phone call from someone soliciting donations on behalf of the HPD, please hang up

PHONE SPOOFING

There is an app that allows phone spoofing.  It conceals the number of the phone being used and uses another phone number to appear in your caller ID.

It can appear to be a Federal Government Agency or your local police department.  This can also be used to imitate utility companies, Hawaiian Electric Company or Board of Water Supply, in order to collect false debts.
